Hello and welcome!

Thank you for taking the time to find out a little about me. My day job is as a Senior Graphic Designer with an engineering firm that has an office in Washington, DC. Even though I have managed so far to keep photography as my escape from the day to day workplace responsibilities, I didn’t realize that I was neglecting it until I had a wake-up call in the summer of 2005. Cancer does tend to get your attention usually. Everything is good on that front at the moment but it made me start devoting more time and energy to enjoying what was going on around me. Some people say that life imitates art or that art imitates life. I feel that LIFE IS ART (or is that ART IS LIFE?). You might have to tilt your head and squint your eyes just right to see it sometimes, but it is there. There will be times during the day when something ordinary happens that will cause me to chuckle and I look around me and everyone else is oblivious to what just occurred. Either they didn’t see it or I’m the only one who gets it. It is difficult to capture something like that in one frame and have the same feeling come across to the viewer, so I don’t even try. What I do try to capture is that image that stops me in my tracks and go “Wow!” or at least brings a smile to my face and makes me think, “That was pretty cool”. It is for this reason that my photos are taken with the intention of being hung on someone’s wall to enjoy as a slice of life, or as a piece of art, and not printed in a magazine in the hopes of selling some product. On the other hand, if you are someone in need of an image to go with a product and one of my photos really “Speaks to you”, please contact me and convince me otherwise. As I have learned the hard way, nothing in this life is set in stone, so enjoy what you have while you have it. If there is something that you want to do, don’t wait around, tomorrow is not guaranteed. So, now that you know how I view things, please visit my galleries and I hope that you are able to at least come close to getting the same feeling inside that I did when I was “In the moment” while taking the photo.
